Best Ushuaia Treks

Ushuaia, located at the southernmost tip of Argentina, offers some incredible trekking opportunities due to its stunning landscapes, diverse terrain, and proximity to the Southern Andes. Here are some of the best treks when visiting Ushuaia:

1) Cerro Martial (1,5/ 5 Stars)

This trek offers breathtaking views of Ushuaia, the Beagle Channel, and the surrounding mountains. Accessible year-round, Cerro Martial is especially popular for its snowshoeing opportunities during the winter months.

We suggest you a proposal to end the day in a different way! We invite you to discover the Martial with the last hours of light, and to share a regional dinner with the calm of the forest in our mountain dome.

2) Trek Laguna Esmeralda (Difficulty 2,5/5 Stars)

Laguna Esmeralda translates to “Emerald Lagoon” in English, and it’s renowned for its stunning landscapes, including the emerald-colored lagoon surrounded by mountains.

This moderate trek takes you through forests, valleys, and along streams to reach the beautiful Emerald Lagoon (Laguna Esmeralda). The trek typically takes around 4-5 hours round trip and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

3) Trek Vinciguerra Glacier, Los Tempanos Lagoon (Difficulty 3/5 Stars)

The Vinciguerra Glacier is part of the larger Martial Mountain Range and is accessible via hiking trails within the national park. This trekking offers a wide variety of landscapes and incredible views of the Vinciguerra Glacier and the Témpanos Lagoon with a unique Esmeralda color. But that’s not all, the journey continues over the Glacier itself. Enjoy walking on this ice giant in search of a sinkhole that allows us to enter its interior and appreciate its ice formations.

4) Albino Eye (Difficulty 4/5 Stars)

This trekking is characterized by being demanding, but a unique opportunity to see 2 iconic places in the area: the Esmeralda lagoon and the Ojo del Albino glacier. A trek with impressive landscapes, which we describe as a real challenge with a great reward.
