This trip to the land of the fjords, glaciers and mountains includes a visit to some of the most emblematic places in Patagonia, such as the Perito Moreno glacier in Argentina or the Torres del Paine in Chile. This natural wonder (Torres del Paine) will be the site of several walks of an accessible level and of great beauty, along the three most emblematic valleys of the region. We will also cross the Magellan Strait to reach Tierra del Fuego, where the southernmost city on the planet is located: Ushuaia, surrounded by a magnificent natural environment.

Day 1 – Arrival El Calafate Airport
We welcome you at El Calafate Airport then we transfer to the hotel for the check in. The rest of the day is at leisure to visit the city on our own.

Day 2 – El Calafate – El Chalten
Early in the morning we will take the bus that will take us to El Chalten. The tour lasts three hours, through which Lake Argentino and Lake Viedma Glacier are the main protagonists. From the beginning of our trip we will see the Cerro Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre, the flora, the fauna, the hydrography and the orography of a unique place in the world. At the Parador La Leona you have 15 minutes to visit the museum, the cafeteria, and the facilities of the property where the Expert Francisco Moreno was attacked by a cougar that almost took his life. Once we arrive at El Chalten the rest of the afternoon is at leisure to visit the town.

Day 3 – Fitz Roy Trek, Laguna de los Tres
We start from El Chaltén traveling the 12 km that separate us from Pilar where all the main trek begins.
During the tour, important information about the area is transmitted and descents are made at panoramic points. Once at the entrance of El Pilar, accompanied by a mountain guide, begin the walk of 17 km in total, bordering the Blanco River where after an hour and crossing beautiful forests of Lengas and Ñires we will arrive at the Mirador del Glaciar Piedras Blancas , where we will have an incredible frontal view of the glacier.
Continuing along the trail we will reach the Poincenot area, which is the base of Cerro Fitz Roy. At that point we can opt to do an ascent of about 300 meters, about 90 minutes in total, to reach the Laguna de los Tres, facing the central wall, one of the most spectacular viwpoints of El Chalten.
On our way back we will have lunch to renew energy.
Then continue the descent back visiting the Capri Lagoon and the Estancia Madsen Viewpoint, to be in El Chaltén around 5:00 p.m

Day 4 – Mount Torre Trek
Today the rest of the day is free. We recomend you to walk along Cerro Torre Trail. The trail runs along beech forest, bogs and shrubland and leads to Laguna Torre, enclosed by moraines and with Glacier Grande calving in its west side. It is usual to see icebergs pushed by the wind in the coast of the lagoon. The thin and elegant 3128 mts of Cerro Torre group and the Adela range in the background complete this spectacular view. In the afternoon we hike back to El Chalten along Cerro Torre trail.

Day 5 – El Chalten – El Calafate
We can take the free day to get to know the town of El Chaltén to visit its chapel or go to the Lago del Desierto, famous for its historic border conflict between Argentina and Chile and being one of the prettiest sites of the region. In the afternoon we take our bus back to El Calafate.

Day 6 – Full Day Tour Perito Moreno Glacier with Safari Náutico Boat Trip
We dedicate this day to one of the World’s Natural Wonder: the Moreno glacier. This ice field- type glacier flows down from the Patagonian Icefield, a big sheet of ice that with its 22.000 square kilometers is the third largest glacier area in the world, after Antarctica (14 M sq km) and Greenland (1 M sq km). Because unusual favorable local conditions, this glacier is the only one in the world that shows a closure and rupture process. The road leads to the very front of the glacier, which will be only meters away from your eyes. The roar of the chunks of ice falling inside the glacier or from the glacier into the lake, the frequent collapse of the front seracs into the turquoise water, makes out of this day a very special and unique experience. Then we will take a boat trip to see incredible views of the south face of Perito Moreno glacier. Then we go back to our hotel.

Day 7 – El Calafate – Puerto Natales
After breakfast we transfer to the bus terminal to take our bus to Puerto Natales in Chile. Upon arrival we transfer to the hotel. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure.

Day 8 – Full Day Torres del Paine National Park
Early morning, we will leave Puerto Natales to travel to Torres Del Paine (90 minutes approximately) through a spectacular road that cross the Patagonia steppe.
We will enter to this world famous National Park, that was declared Humanity Heritage by the UNESCO, and we will begin to go round this amazing area, taking all the photos that we want. We will admire the panoramic views of this Park, such as the Nordenskjöld Lake, The Salto Grande and the “Cuernos del Paine” Paine ́s horns. Finally, we will visit the Grey Lake viewpoint and we will return to Puerto Natales by dawn.

Day 9 – Puerto Natales
After breakfast the rest of the day is at leisure to visit Puerto Natales on our own.
We recommend to do the Balmaseda and Serrano navegation (non – included) through the Ultima Esperanza fjord, watching beautiful mountains, ice cascades and a great variety of Patagonian birds. This area of the Bernardo O Higgins National Park is undoubtedly one of the most fascinating regions of southern Chile.

Day 10 – Puerto Natales – Punta Arenas – Ushuaia
We leave early in the morning our accommodation in Puerto Natales to take our bus to our next destination: Ushuaia. Upon arrival al Ushuaia´s bus terminal a transfer will be waiting for us

Day 11 – Beagle Channel Boat Trip
After breakfast we walk on our own to the touristic pier and get on board to our boat trip in the legendary Beagle Channel. We visit Alicia Island where we will watch a colony of Sea Lions, the Island of Birds where we can see Cormorants and the Light House Les Eclaireurs built by 1919. We get back to the port while we watch the Darwin range to the West and the Andes above Ushuaia. The afternoon is at leisure to visit the city on our own.

Day 12 – Tierra del Fuego National Park
In the morning around 08:30 we will pick you up at the hotel, from where we will go to the Tierra del Fuego National Park, which is located 12 km from the center of the city of Ushuaia. Once we enter the park we continue with to Ensenada, a bay that combines the Andes, the sub-Antarctic forest and sea in the same place defining an ecosystem unique from Argentina. In this area of the park, native people used to live and their archaeological remains. There is also the last post office in America, where it is sometimes open and we can send postcards to anywhere in the world. (Ensenada bay is closed in winter).
We will continue to other panoramic points to make small tours to appreciate the flora and fauna that surprises us with its beauty: Acigami Glacier Lake (Roca) shared with Chile, Lapataia Bay, where the sign indicating that we have reached the end of the Pan American route.
Then we go back to our accommodation in Ushuaia.
