We welcome you at Salta airport. Upon arrival a transfer will be waiting for you to take you to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to visit the city on your own.

Day 2 – Salta – Salinas Grandes – Purmamarca
Early, after breakfast we start our day of traveling through incredible landscapes. We make a parallel route of the Train of the Clouds railway by Quebrada del Toro. Then we continue, starting the ascent until reaching 4080 meters above sea level and get to San Antonio de los Cobres. We make a break for lunch and enjoy some of the typical meals offered in the village. Back in the vehicle, we cross route 40 until we reach Salinas Grandes, right on the border between Salta and Jujuy. Then we start the descent by Cuesta de Lipán where condors are usually seen. We arrive at Purmamarca town and its Hill of Seven Colors, where we spend the night.

Day 4 – Purmamarca – Quebrada de Humahuaca – Humahuaca
Leaving from Purmamarca, we enter the Quebrada de Humahuaca, passing through the Posta de Hornillos, continuing towards the town of Tilcara. We continue to Huacalera, passing through the Tropic of Capricorn, from where you can see the colors of the hill called “Pollera de la Colla”. We visit the mystical Church of Uquía, where the paintings of the Arcabuceros Angels (important vestige in the area of the Cuzqueña school) are located. Then we arrive in Humahuaca and admire its important Cathedral and the Independence Monument (El Indio) by the sculptor Soto Avendaño. After lunch we go to our hotel to check in. We have the rest of the afternoon to explore the town.

Day 5 – Humahuaca – Comunidad de Hornaditas – Humahuaca
We leave by mini bus from Humahuaca to Quebrada de Sapagua, where a 60-minute walk awaits us in which we can observe ancient rock art. From there we continue by mini bus to the community of Hornaditas, where we can enjoy a shared experience with the inhabitants of the community that open their doors to receive us. We can collaborate with the preparation of the typical meal that we will later share, observe the daily activities in the field with the animals or the artisanal harvest or go for a walk around. At the end of the afternoon we return to Humahuaca.

Day 6 – Humahuaca – Cerro Hornocal – Humahuaca
We leave Humahuaca and we cross “Peña Blanca”, east border of the Quebrada of Humahuaca. Here we begin our adventure of “colorful towns and quebradas”. After a few kilometers we meet the first towns. The overwhelming plains of the Cocataca Valley remind us of one of the main Inca agricultural sites. During the morning we walk this valley and take our lunch once in town. During the afternoon we go hiking for 2 and a half hours to watch the ancient paintings on rocks on Cerro Negro. From here we enjoy spectaculars view over the valley. After getting back in our vehicle we cross by different towns such as Valiaso and Pucará to climb the Serrania of Santa Barbara (Santa Barbara Hills) reaching 4200 mts. above sea level. We end up the day at the viewpoint in Cerro Horconal, with beautiful views over the Abra (huge prairie) de Zenta. We take a typical northwest tea time and get back to our hotel by 7 pm.

Day 7 – Humahuaca – Salta
After breakfast, at the indicated tima, we take a regular bus back to Salta city. Upon arrival at the bus station we take a transfer to the hotel.

Day 8 – Salta
The city of Salta deserves a whole day off to explore it. We recommend that you do not miss the High Mountain Museum, located in front of the main square.
