Our favorite selected destinations to visit in Argentinian-Chilean Patagonia

Argentina is a huge country with its amazing variety of landscapes and sometimes it can be difficult to select just some of them to visit in a short period of time.
In this article we will classify the destinations that you cannot miss in Patagonia:

5- Puerto Madryn: Puerto Madryn is a coastal city, located in Chubut Province in Argentina. It is renowned for its incredible wildlife experience. If you are a nature and animal lover, Puerto Madryn should definitely be a destination on your list.

At Peninsula de Valdez, a site recognized for its diverse ecosystem and also declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage site, you will be able to see magallanic penguins, sea lions, Southern right whales, orcas and a great diversity of birds too.

4- Torres del Paine: Located only 60 km from the fisherman town of Puerto Natales in Chilean Patagonia, Torres del Paine is a National Park that every trek lover must visit at least once in his life. This place is famous for it dramatical landscapes that includes: Torres del Paine Massif (“The Towers”), Paine Horns, Grey Glacier, French Valley among other amazing points of the park.

Recommended Stay: You can visit the Park on a full day tour from Puerto Natales or if you want to stay inside the park stays can be between 3/4 nights minimum to 6/7 nights to visit the entire national park.

It’s recommendable to book accommodations and permits in advance, especially during the high season (November to March).

3- Ushuaia: Know as the southernmost city in the world surrounded by the Andes Mountain Rage and the Beagle Channel Boat trip, Ushuaia is the gateway to the Antarctic Continent.

2- San Carlos de Bariloche: An Argentinian city located at the shores of Nahuel Huapi Lake and surrounded by the Andes Mountain. It is known as the Lake district, stunning landscapes, outdoor activities and its lovely alpine architecture that characterize this Patagon city.

We recommend combining your trip in Bariloche with Puerto Varas, an Andean city in the Chilean side, by taking the Andean Crossing Boat Trip. In Puerto Varas, you will enjoy of amazing landscapes too with Osorno Volcano as its background.
Bariloche can be visited all year round. If you are going during winter months (From June to September) you enjoy of snow tours and during summer months (From October to March) there are many outdoor activities such as kayak and trekking.

1- El Calafate: The land of Glaciers, the gateway for visiting Los Glaciares National Park and of course, the famous Perito Moreno Glacier, know for its rupture process that makes it unique in the world.
