When thinking and investigating of visiting the north of Argentina and its famous colorful mountains, you might have come across the “Tren a las Nubes”. While this is still operating, we want to celebrate the news of the construction of a new and innovated train in the northern Argentina. The “Quebrada de Humahuaca” train that will connect the towns of Volcan and Tilcara, stopping in many towns along Quebrada de Humahuaca.
Under sustainable tourism premises, this train will be environmentally friendly and will operate with lithium batteries that can be charged 100% in only 25 minutes and allows a range of 120 kilometers. Amazing, right?
The Chinese company CRRC is the training provider.
The train has large windows to see the landscape, even with part of the glass roof that propose and immersive trip with the colored hills as background. The low speed will not exceed 60km/h that will allow you to enjoy the spectacle of nature.
Apparently, the train will not offer a schedule with specific departures times. With only one ticket, passenger will be able to get on and off the train as many times they want in order to encourage visitors to get off the train in those charming and unique towns that are not as famous and visited as, for example, Purmamarca and Tilcara. Travelers from all over the world will be able to visit the entire Quebrada de Humahuaca, Cultural and Natural Heritage of Humanity in a cleaner and more comfortable way.
The five stations are all new and will have bars and bathrooms.
